Mariane Maltai-Guilbault, Planning Advisor with the City of Montréal’s Environment Department

Mariane Maltais-Guilbault is a Planning Advisor with the City of Montréal’s Environment Department. She brings extensive expertise in circular economy and waste management, developed at the provincial level and now applied to municipal challenges. In Montréal, she leads innovative projects to reduce food waste, optimize organic waste recycling, and advance textile circularity. 
 
Mariane has designed major initiatives, including a 2016 funding program that led to the creation of the Synergie Québec network. More recently, she spearheaded the Textile Innovation Challenge (2023), fostering solutions for post-consumer textile recovery. Known for her data-driven and behavioral science approach, she currently leads a federally funded project to improve participation in organic waste collection in multi-unit buildings and conducts research to identify effective strategies for waste reduction. 
 
She also coordinated the French-language rollout of the national Love Food Hate Waste campaign and has contributed to multiple public awareness initiatives in Montréal. Her career reflects a unique ability to connect innovation, evidence-based practices, and public policy to build sustainable, collaborative systems. 

Lori Koebel, Vice President of Sustainability & Stakeholder Relations at Alberta Beverage Container Recycling Corporation (ABCRC)

Lori Koebel is the Vice President of Sustainability & Stakeholder Relations at Alberta Beverage Container Recycling Corporation (ABCRC). She oversees ABCRC’s communications, stakeholder engagement and sustainability portfolios, and drives initiatives that strengthen Alberta’s high-performing beverage container recycling system. Lori also supports national collaboration through her work on harmonized data, low-performing container strategies and the development of circular end markets.

Recognized for her ability to build trusted partnerships and navigate complex policy and operational environments, Lori champions innovative, evidence-based approaches that improve system performance, foster behaviour change and advance Canada’s circular economy. Her leadership has helped position ABCRC as a credible, solutions-focused voice across provincial and national forums.

Lori holds a Master of Sustainability Leadership from Arizona State University and has served on several boards and advisory groups within the recycling and sustainability sector, including previous service with the Recycling Council of Alberta. She also contributes to national initiatives focused on plastics management, producer responsibility and system modernization.

She brings a collaborative mindset, deep expertise in deposit-return systems and a strong commitment to advancing practical, scalable circular solutions to her role with the Circular Innovation Council.

Chantal Rousseau, Senior Director of the Reduction, Reuse & Ecocentres Division at Tricentris

Chantal Rousseau, MBA, C.Dir is the Senior Director of the Reduction, Reuse & Ecocentres Division at Tricentris, where she leads the organization’s transition beyond traditional recycling toward large-scale reuse, repair, and territorial circular infrastructure. She oversees the management of multiple municipal ecocentres, the integration of on-site reuse boutiques, and a mobile repair workshop program serving communities across Québec. She is also responsible for the upcoming launch of Tricentris’ first fully built-and-operated ecocentre, opening in January, and for the development of “Les Galeries Tricentris”, which will be the first reuse-based shopping centre in North America.  Chantal also contributes to strengthening circular value chains through the recent integration of BoPaq, a reusable container system offering washing services and digital consignment technology.
 
She holds the C.Dir (Chartered Director) designation and an MBA from Université Laval, where she represented the university at the John Molson International MBA Case Competition. In the public and nonprofit sector, she has served as Board Chair, Vice-President, and Committee Chair (Human Resources, Ethics & Governance). Known for her transparent, energetic, and purpose-driven leadership, Chantal is committed to advancing practical, community-rooted circular solutions.

Steve Millar, Chief Operating & Sustainability Officer at Goodwill Industries

Steve Millar is a seasoned executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience across finance, operations, sales, human resources, and strategic growth through mergers and acquisitions. A designated accountant since 1996, he earned his MBA from Queen’s University to further strengthen his strategic and leadership capabilities.

Steve has held senior leadership roles in multiple industries, including a decade with Tempur-Pedic Canada and Tempur Sealy, where he progressed from Director of Finance to Vice President and Managing Director, and later Vice President of Sales, overseeing more than $300 million in revenue across the Canadian Tempur-Pedic and Sealy businesses.

He joined Goodwill Industries Ontario Great Lakes as Chief Financial & Administrative Officer, where he guided the organization through significant transformation, including mergers, pandemic response, and rapid growth. He now serves as Chief Operating & Sustainability Officer, with responsibility for the Donated Goods Retail business and organizational sustainability initiatives. During his tenure, the organization has grown from $28 million to a projected $78 million in revenue and from 600 to 1,400 employees.

Steve is also an active community volunteer, having served on the boards of the Southwestern Ontario YMCA, Laurier Rams high school alumni association, and as a minor league hockey coach.

Danielle Holly, Executive Lead, North America at Ellen MacArthur Foundation

Danielle Holly currently serves as the Executive Lead in NA for the Ellen McArthur Foundation (EMF) and has been a leader in the circular economy for 15 years. The EMF is moving into a new chapter focused on activating and implementing the circular economy and expanding its operations in the US and Canada. In her current role at EMF, Danielle overseas the organizations mission to accelerate a CE in the US and Canada. She is responsible for expanding CE implementation within critical minerals, specifically consumer electronics and digital infrastructure.

Danielle is a frequent speaker and writer on the current state of CE in NA and has additional expertise in strategic planning, revenue generation, corporate sustainability, leadership development and board governance. She has used her media platform and writing partnerships with Forbes, Social Stanford Innovation Review, Non-Profit Quarterly, Chief, among others to build visibility for initiatives that drive environmental and economic progress.
