Circular Innovation Council is proud to announce our new partnership with the City of Edmonton to co-lead an innovative pilot project focused on improving the management and recovery of surplus food and organic waste in the Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (IC&I) sector.
Set to launch in late Summer 2025, this project will pilot a cooperative service model for Edmonton’s businesses and institutions to help divert food waste from landfill through composting solutions, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and support community food recovery efforts in partnership with Leftovers Foundation, Integrity Waste Solutions, and others in Edmonton’s regional network of industry and community service providers.
Together with municipal, industry, and community partners, we’re turning food waste into valuable resources while laying groundwork for advancing circular resource recovery systems in Edmonton.
