Save the Date: Canadian Circular Economy Summit Returns in 2027

Countdown to CCES 2027!

The Circular Innovation Council (CIC) is pleased to announce the return of the highly successful Canadian Circular Economy Summit (CCES) during Canadian Environment Week, taking place in Edmonton, Alberta, from June 2–4, 2027.

Originally co-created in partnership between Circular Innovation Council and Circular Economy Leadership Canada (a Solution Space of Generate Canada), the Summit has experienced remarkable growth, with back-to-back sold-out events in Toronto (2023) and Montréal (2025), doubling attendance within just two years.

CCES 2027 will be led by the Circular Innovation Council and co-hosted in partnership with the City of Edmonton and Alberta Ecotrust Foundation. Hosted in Alberta for the first time, the event will bring together a diverse network of business and industry leaders, policymakers, innovators, entrepreneurs, academics, and researchers who are shaping Canada’s circular future.

“We are delighted to partner with our co-hosts to bring the next edition of the Canadian Circular Economy Summit to Edmonton and to highlight the exceptional leadership, innovation, and collaboration taking place across the City of Edmonton and the Province of Alberta,” said Jo-Anne St. Godard, Executive Director of the Circular Innovation Council. “The circular economy offers practical solutions to some of Canada’s most pressing economic, environmental, and social challenges while creating new opportunities for growth, competitiveness, resilience, and prosperity. The Canadian Circular Economy Summit has become Canada’s flagship event for circular economy leadership and collaboration, serving as a catalyst for the partnerships, policies, and innovations needed to accelerate Canada’s transition to a circular future.”

More details to come!

Building off the event’s past success, CCES 2027 will continue to be a platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and actionable strategies toward achieving circularity in Canada.  We look forward to gathering delegates from all corners of the country with international experts and practitioners from around the world.

The CCES 2027 official schedule and program is now under development. We will be releasing information on registration, accommodation and travel details very soon for early budgeting and planning. A detailed sponsorship opportunities package will be released later this month.

CIC becomes sole owner

CCES was co-created and co-hosted as a partnership between Circular Innovation Council and Circular Economy Leadership Canada (a former Solution Space of Generate Canada). As of January 2026, CELC has undertaken a strategic refocus to become Circular Construction Canada (CCC) and will remain a collaborating partner for CCES 2027.

Reflections from Delegates

“There are so many individual things happening across industries. We use events like this to come together and share ideas. But more importantly, we need to leave with action. Seeing everyone come together is truly enlightening.”

“The best part of CCES is to network with key decision makers in Canada but also internationally, and find new ways to collaborate and make actions on the ground.”

“I love CCES. Getting to connect with other people that care about the circular economy as much as I do is incredible…It’s so exciting to be here and have this energy around me. I feel like there’s a lot of motivation that comes out of this.”
