Leading Canada’s Transition toward a Circular Economy
As we work toward accelerating Canada’s transition to a circular economy, the strength of our Board of Directors is central to our ability to achieve meaningful impact. A diverse and strategically skilled board is essential for guiding the organization’s direction, ensuring effective governance, and inspiring innovation.
It is vital that our board members bring a depth of expertise in areas that enable us to navigate complex, social, environmental, and economic systems, forge meaningful partnerships, and make sound strategic decisions. This year we are seeking specifically those with strong strategic and systems thinking to help us prioritize initiatives that align with our long-term vision, financial literacy and an in-depth knowledge of not-for-profit accounting principles to ensuring fiscal sustainability and a background in corporate law to provide invaluable insight into legal and regulatory compliance, contractual negotiations, and risk mitigation.
Additionally, governance skills are fundamental in upholding transparency and compliance while managing operational and reputational risks. The ability to build cross-sector partnerships can open new avenues for collaboration, amplify our advocacy efforts, and accelerate the adoption of circular solutions. Applying economic principles allows us to assess the value and broader impact of our initiatives, ensuring we maximize positive outcomes for society and the environment.
As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen the organization, we are seeking individuals who possess these capabilities and who are committed to actively engaging with our mission. Their leadership will help ensure that our Board remains well-equipped to guide the organization through the evolving landscape of the circular economy and to capitalize on opportunities for positive change.
We invite members, who possess these qualities, to consider nominating colleagues or themselves. Your involvement is crucial as we continue building a resilient and innovative organization committed to sustainability and circular economic principles.
Thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to our shared vision.
