The annual Circular Economy Month campaign starts next week! With this October marking the 25th anniversary of the annual campaign (originally established as Waste Reduction Week in Canada in 2001), we’ll be reflecting on progress made over the last quarter century and looking ahead to what’s needed to build a more circular, resilient future.
CIC encourages organizations and communities from across the country to celebrate their circular achievements and commitments and help their networks discover the social, economic and environmental benefits of circularity. Join the conversation online using the campaign hashtag #CircularEconomyMonth and register your events online.

The rapid growth of AI and digital services is creating new, consumption-based cost pressures for IT organizations. Webinar participants will learn a valuable framework connecting digital services to the underlying digital infrastructure, material and energy resources that support it.
Presenters will identify opportunities for IT organizations to leverage transparent energy and sustainability data as operational intelligence to support effective digital services management. The City of Amsterdam will showcase a case study demonstrating tools and cloud services procurement practices to capture the data that supports sustainable digital services and the infrastructure that supports them.

This webinar explores how the sharing economy – a model where access replaces ownership – is transforming the way we consume, spend money, and connect with our communities. October marks both Circular Economy Month and Cybersecurity Awareness Month, making it a timely opportunity for organizations to review how they manage retired electronics and IT equipment. Responsible reuse and recycling can help extend the life of technology, reduce electronic waste, and support a more circular economy.
Secure data destruction is equally important when devices reach the end of their useful life. The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) supports businesses and organizations across Canada with electronics recycling, technology reuse, secure data destruction, and IT asset disposition services, helping ensure retired equipment is managed securely and responsibly.
We want to say a big thank you to our new member that joined us in August 2026. Thank you for becoming a part of our fast growing membership here at Circular Innovation Council!
