Join our team in Yellowknife as a Waste Reduction Advisor and take advantage of the northern adventurer’s paradise with the NWT’s rugged terrain, midnight sun, and world-class aurora borealis. This position is located in Yellowknife.
The Waste Reduction Advisor (Advisor) works onsite developing, implementing and evaluating source reduction and waste diversion strategies, legislation, regulations, policies, programs, and initiatives for the NWT and for developing, implementing and coordinating policies to facilitate the greening of government operations for the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT). Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by a bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, environmental studies, environmental engineering or related field, with three (3) years of related experience.
Related field of education can include degrees in Environmental Management, Sustainability Studies, Environmental Design, and Industrial Ecology.
Related experience can include Sustainability or Environmental Policy Advisor, Circular Economy or Waste Prevention/Diversion Specialist Extended Producer Responsibility Advisor, or Waste Expert.
